Alex Hernandez
President
Alex Hernandez is President of Hernandez, consisting of Hernandez Construction and Hernandez Development Services. He leads and manages the operations and strategic direction of the companies, providing a full range of commercial construction and development services.

Mr. Hernandez has over 30 years of experience in the real estate development and construction industries. He joined Stiles in 1996, where he held many diverse positions including Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager and still maintains an active role as Director of Business Development. In 2002, he partnered with Stiles to form Hernandez Construction and Hernandez Development Services. As President, he has led the company’s growth, establishing Hernandez Construction as a market leader in the delivery of commercial and industrial construction in South Florida. Mr. Hernandez’s experience encompasses many areas of construction including hospitality, healthcare, residential, commercial, industrial, tenant improvement, manufacturing, retail, automotive and public sector work. Over his distinguished career, Mr. Hernandez has managed over ten million square feet of tilt wall buildings including facilities for several Fortune 100 companies. Under his leadership, Hernandez Construction has received numerous industry awards and accreditations including LEED Certification, Community Appearance Awards and the Associated Builders’ Safety Award.
Don Woods
Senior Vice President
Don Woods has a distinguished career spanning over 40 years in the construction industry. As Senior Vice President at Hernandez, he is responsible for all of the company’s construction operations, company staff functions and infrastructure development operations. He provides leadership, establishes benchmarks, and monitors assigned projects to ensure completion in a cost-effective, on-time and professional manner.

Don began his career with large-scale, design-build development, working for self-performing companies in the Midwest. He has served in a number of diverse roles across the Southeast over the years, working his way from hands-on roles in the field to construction executive and management roles delivering a variety of complex Industrial/Manufacturing facilities for Fortune 100 clients including Boeing and Honda. Don prides himself on maintaining positive and successful relationships with clients and everyone involved on the project teams. Mr. Woods is experienced in all aspects of construction management on projects ranging from $1 million to $2.2 billion, including contract negotiations. His extensive experience in various construction market sectors will allow Hernandez to strategically expand its platform and further penetrate key market segments through the diversification of service offerings.
Fabio D’Ascola
Chief Financial Officer
Fabio D’Ascola is responsible for the group’s financial operations while helping to drive its long-term strategic growth plan. Mr. D’Ascola brings decades of experience and thoughtful leadership to the Hernandez Construction executive team and is clearly focused on the future, evaluating strategic alternatives and determining how to minimize risks and control costs for our clients.

By establishing company-wide objectives, policies, procedures, processes, programs and practices to assure the company has a continuously sound financial accounting structure, Mr. D’Ascola forecasts and guides critical financial issues. He is currently focusing his efforts on implementing strategic programs that will allow the company to expand its platform and further penetrate key market segments. Mr. D’Ascola has over 25 years of successful real estate experience in both start-ups and large corporations with extensive international experience. Prior to joining Hernandez, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at ESJ Capital Partners. In this role, he closed 46 transactions with assets totaling over $460 Million and founded a real estate private equity fund with investments in excess of $170M, managed through US and European-based vehicles. Mr. D’Ascola’s distinguished career has also included leadership roles in public and private companies throughout the US, Europe and South America.
Rene Garcia
Preconstruction Services
Rene Garcia is responsible for leading and coordinating preconstruction and estimating efforts. As such, Garcia prepares cost estimates from conception through final contract, working with and coordinating the project team including the Owner/Client, all design professionals, subcontractors, and the Project Manager. In addition, he provides value-adding solutions that take schedule, maintenance, and life-cycle cost into consideration.

Mr. Garcia oversees the establishment and maintenance of budget control during the preconstruction phase of the project and keeps owner and team abreast of current budget and impact of design decisions. He has extensive knowledge of cost elements of projects has been involved in all project types including commercial, industrial, retail, government, retail, and automotive dealerships.
Joe Goss
Development Services
Joe Goss is responsible for overseeing development services for the organization, including monitoring the progress of projects against goals, objectives, approved budgets and approved timelines. He is a strong communicator and facilitates project strategy meetings with owners, design professionals, subcontractors and the Hernandez team in order to ensure the success of each and every project.

Mr. Goss has over 30 years of construction experience across a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Education, Hospitality and Public work. Most recently, he worked as the Vice President of Construction for Industrial Development International (IDI), where he oversaw more than 3.4 million square feet of development and construction. Joe has also held leadership roles at Centex Rooney and Moss & Associates, where he was a part of many notable projects, including Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Paradise Island’s Atlantis Resort.
